Beautiful kit

This kit is great. All the aromas are solid and it’s been helping with my sensory self training.

Nice, but Confusing Lid

This is a well made kit with a good variety of scents. Build quality is strong.
My main issue is at first I didn't know how the lids worked and the kit doesn't come with instructions on how the caps work. The little plastic lids are part of the cap, but at first it is hard to tell. They looks like the "orifice reducers" that come in hot sauces and some aromatherapy bottles which are designed to let drops out slowly, except the middle hole isn't really a whole. It turns out its just part of the cap, but it was confusing and hard to figure out. Having a note on the instructions would be good.

A Fun Tool To Get Better at Nosing a Whiskey

I absolutely love this kit. It’s a fun way to test your ability to identify the aromas you might find in a nice whiskey. I will say that a few of the scents don’t smell like what I would think they should, but my guess is that it’s just my nose being different from everyone else’s. Still, highly recommended if you’re looking for a gift for a whiskey fan, even the gift is for yourself.

Increase Your Enjoyment and Sophistication

I'm still amazed at how quickly the experts pick out a variety of aromas in a single pour. I can sometimes smell and taste general differences from one bottle to another, but identifying butterscotch or tropical fruit? Oh, boy ... I need practice. The aroma kit is great! The scents are quite strong and fairly easily recognizable in isolation. With practice, though, it is possible to pick up the faint scent in a glass of whiskey. I begin to notice things I never noticed before, and I begin to pick them up on the palate, as well. Perhaps, I'd like to see additional scents added to the kit: corn, rye, wheat, malted and unmalted barley, and oak. And I've yet to find a whiskey that smells or tastes like petrol, which is included. However, I'm glad I purchased the aroma kit. Experiencing whiskey on this level has led to increased enjoyment and, dare I say, a higher sense of sophistication.
